The LFD shared the following message about their annual drive:

“For more than 100 years the members of the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department have proudly served the Township of Livingston protecting life and property. These dedicated volunteers, who are your neighbors, have over the years earned an enviable reputation for excellence and professionalism among their peers in the fire service. Under the leadership of a full time Chief and Assistant Chief, the department operates with a contingent of volunteer firefighters and three volunteer Deputy Chiefs. The members of the Livingston Fire Department are on call twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year to provide fire protection and other emergency services to the residents of Livingston. The dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated by these volunteers translates into a significant savings in municipal taxes and insurance premiums to every residential and commercial property.

“In 2025, the Department responded to 21 general fire alarms and 1,208 miscellaneous calls for emergency service. Additionally, they answered numerous mutual aid requests from other fire departments in neighboring communities throughout the year. The ever-increasing demands or a rapidly evolving community like Livingston require our volunteer firefighters to keep current with advanced firefighting and emergency response techniques. In addition to weekly in house Department, training drills these volunteers, on their own time, also participate in State & County coordinated firefighting and disaster response training programs, and attend training for hazardous materials handling and conduct yearly First Aid & CPR lifesaving training. The Livingston Fire Department also participated in the Townships annual Community Block Party. The Fire Department educates the community about fire safety, awards scholarships to three Livingston High School graduates, and conducts numerous fire education programs throughout the year at local grammar schools, business and civic organizations.

“All of this, and much more, is made possible thanks to your past generous donations. Once again, the members of the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department seek your financial support during our annual fund drive. As always; we continue to appreciate your continued assistance and would be most grateful if you would complete the enclosed form and return it to us along with your tax-deductible donation.

“Although we only ask for your assistance once each year, the volunteers of the Livingston Fire Department stand ready to assist the citizens of Livingston year round whenever the need arises. On behalf of the members of the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department. I want to thank you for your continued support, and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer!”
