This event is open to all parents and caregivers in the 27th district, which also includes the towns of Clifton, Millburn, Montclair, Roseland and West Orange.

Space is limited. Registration for the event can be done online here. Families with privacy concerns can also send feedback and comments to the assemblywoman's office here.

According to Bagolie, the event is being held to discuss a recent New Jersey Assembly Education Committee hearing, which raised concerns about the state's effectiveness in monitoring, investigating and overseeing special education services in school districts.

"There are clear issues and deep concerns in how special education is being administered in the Garden State, and we must act strategically and proactively," said Bagolie, an educator who holds a master's degree in the field.

"My hope is that this forum can serve as the beginning of a dialogue that provides our parents the ability to ultimately shape and improve state policy," the assemblywoman said.
