Free Livingston 'Fall Walking Club' Kicks Off In 2 Weeks

You can walk around the South Mountain reservoir each week with the Livingston Health Department's free walking club.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Want to get out of the house, get some exercise, and maybe have a nice talk with new friends? Walking has proven a popular mode of exercise during the pandemic, and now you can do it with neighbors.

The Livingston Health Department will offer a free Walking Club this fall for residents 18 and over.

The club will meet on Fridays starting Sept. 9 to walk around the reservoir at the South Mountain Recreation Complex, located in West Orange.

Masks are optional for now.

The walks will run from 10 to 11 a.m. from Sept. 9 to Nov. 4.

The walks will be run in conjunction with the Millburn Walking Club.

The Health Department said, "Enjoy the beautiful fall weather while getting some exercise."

The group will meet in the free parking lot of McLoone's boat house and walk 1.75 miles around the reservoir. The reservoir is located at 9 Cherry Lane in West Orange.
