5 Questions with Seabrook Resident & Tai Chi Teacher Ben Yeh

Ben teaches three classes a week at the active senior living community in Tinton Falls.

Ben Yeh has been practicing tai chi for more than 50 years. When he and his wife May moved to Seabrook, he decided to share his passion with the community by teaching tai chi on campus. More than 200 residents have taken his class, which is offered three times a week at the developed and managed Erickson Living senior living community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

People all over the world practice tai chi, an ancient Chinese martial art. Combined with breathing and meditation, the fluid movements of tai chi help students clear their minds of stress and worries.

What are the benefits of Tai Chi? Students improve their overall balance, general health, and welfare.

What do residents get out of taking your class? Residents enjoy the exercise and social companionship.

Favorite part of living at Seabrook? Camaraderie on campus

In addition to Tai Chi, residents can take qigong, chair Pilates, Zumba, aerobics, stretch and tone, and more, from a calendar of on-site weekly classes. Residents are also staying fit and having fun by working out in the campus fitness center, swimming laps in the indoor pool, and walking the community's scenic walking trails.
