LONG BRANCH, NJ — There were gunshots fired outside the Long Branch VFW building on Willow Avenue June 19, confirmed Long Branch city business administrator Charles Shirley.
The gunshots may have been fired during a fight.
Two bullet shell casings were recovered, said Shirley. He said nobody was hit by the gunfire and there are no cooperative witnesses but, "VFW surveillance footage was secured and is the most promising lead," he said.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor is leading the investigation.
