The Monmouth County Library Commission has announced it has extended the Library Logo Contest to have more of the public participate in this initiative.  The new deadline for entry will be Feb 1, 2012.

The Monmouth County Library is seeking creative young artists to design a new logo for the library system. The prize for the winning entry is $500, donated by the Friends of the Monmouth County Library.

The new logo should emphasize the added dimension of technology to the Library’s services that are part of the growing dynamic of the Monmouth County Library System, according to Monmouth County Library Commission Chair Renee B. Swartz.

“Not only is the Library a place to dream, a place to learn and a place to realize one’s potential, but the Library has also become everyone’s corner store of the mind,” Swartz said. “These are the concepts we would like to see reflected in our new logo.”

The logo contest is open to all Monmouth County residents ages 14 to 22. Entries should be original art only. The Library Commission reserves the right to use or not to use the logo as it deems appropriate.

A submission form, along with rules of the contest, is available online at www.monmouthcountylib.org

Artists should submit their entries on paper by mail to: Library Logo Contest, c/o Public Relations Office, Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, 07726. Please include your name, address, phone number and an e-mail address, if available. For questions on the contest, please call 732-308-3747.

One entry per person, please.  Monmouth County employees and their immediate family members are not eligible for this contest. One winner only will be chosen. The logo will become the property of the Monmouth County Library System.
