UPDATE: Authorities Identify Victim In Fatal Eatontown Shooting
Rasheem Palmer, 37, was found lying in the road after a report of shots fired near Country Club Apartments, authorities said.

Monmouth County authorities are investigating after a 37-year-old black man was found shot to death at Country Club Apartments in Eatontown early Friday morning.
Eatontown police were called to the apartments, at the corner of Tilton Avenue and Country Club Road at 12:13 a.m. for a report of shots fired, said Charles Webster, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Upon arrival they found Rasheem Palmer, 37, Red Bank, lying in the road near the entrance to the apartments, and quickly determined he had been shot and called EMS, Webster said. The man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, but despite live-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m., Webster said.

Webster said the prosecutor’s office and Eatontown police are investigating, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Kevin Condon of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at (800) 533-7443 or Detective Aaron Shaw of the Eatontown Police Department at (732) 542-0100, he said.
