Beachgoers Will Have To Pay To Swim At Takanassee Beach This Summer
Long Branch has decided to staff beach with lifeguards.

The Long Branch City Council will charge beachgoers who want to visit Takanassee Beach this summer, according to Wordontheshore.com
The number of visitors to the beach is growing and the revenue is needed to pay for lifeguards, badge checkers and maintenance crews, Business Administrator Howard Woolley said.

The city put lifeguards on the beach in the summer of 2014, but did not charge admission. Lifeguards cost roughly $20,000 per season, he said.
