Bicyclist Hit By Long Branch School Bus Earlier This Month Dies

LONG BRANCH, NJ - A city woman who was hit by a Long Branch school bus while riding her bike has died, according to a report in app.com.
Marva Fitzpatrick, 45, Sairs Avenue, was struck on Oct. 2, while riding her bike that afternoon at the intersection of Sairs and West End avenues, according to the report.
Fitzpatrick suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where she had emergency surgery, police said.

Fitzpatrick's mother, Caroline Bennett, said her daughter was brain damaged by the accident and died on Oct. 26. Bennett is a member of the Long Branch Board of Education, the report states.
The bus was traveling westbound on West End Avenue through the intersection when it struck Fitzpatrick, who was heading north, on the west side of the street, against the flow of traffic. There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident.
