Bobbi Brown, world-renowned makeup artist, beauty industry titan and best-selling author, provided the keynote address at the Leon Hess Cancer Center Council at Monmouth Medical Center’s 24th Annual Power of Pink Luncheon on July 18 in Rumson, NJ.

The luncheon drew hundreds of attendees and also honored Louis Zinterhofer, MD. In 1973, Dr. Zinterhofer joined the pathology practice at Monmouth Medical Center and he served as the Chairman of Pathology at the hospital from 1989-2018. He has also served as Monmouth Medical Center’s pathology residency program director. In 2019, he was appointed by NJ Gov. Phil Murphy to the NJ State Board of Medical Examiners.

The event raised funds for The Leon Hess Cancer Center, particularly for the Deep Inhalation Breathing Hold equipment at the Center, technology that takes advantage of a more favorable position of the heart during inspiration to minimize radiation exposure to the heart during radiation therapy.

“Each year Power of Pink provides an opportunity to celebrate the important work of the Leon Hess Cancer Center and to take pride in the outstanding care that is provided every day,” said Eric Carney, President and Chief Executive Officer, Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility. “The hard work and commitment of the Leon Hess Cancer Center Council have made such an impact on the lives of so many patients who need access to high quality cancer care close to home.”

As the flagship event of the hospital’s Leon Hess Cancer Center Council, the Power of Pink Luncheon raises funds to enhance the quality of care delivered to cancer patients at Monmouth Medical Center. In two decades, Council has raised more than $6 million for the Leon Hess Cancer Center, the region’s only facility designated as an Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.
