CVR Ambassadors Support Rotary Dictionary Project

This past Tuesday, CVR Ambassadors from the Center for Vocational Rehabiliation (CVR) assisted the Tinton Falls Rotary with their annual Dictionary Project. The Tinton Falls Rotary Dictionary Project gives dictionaries to every third grader at Mahala F. Atchison Elementary School. The CVR Ambassador program was developed to empower individuals with special needs through volunteerism.

"The dictionary project is very important to the Tinton Falls Rotary," said Russell Anderson, President of Tinton Falls Rotary and CEO/President of CVR. "We believe that knowledge is power and dictionaries are an important tool for the education process."

The dictionaries are hand delivered to each student and a Rotarian gives a short presentation about the dictionaries to each third grade class at the elementary school.

"Today, our special needs CVR Ambassadors assisted with the distribution of the dictionaries to the individual students" said Travis Johnson, Tinton Falls Rotatian and Marketing and Activities Coordinator at CVR. "It was a beautiful process they gave us an opportunity to show the students that they were important while also validating the effort of our special needs ambassadors, who were very excited to be volunteers."
