Deal Man Stopped From Bringing Handgun On Flight

Incident happened at John F. Kennedy International Airport

JAMAICA, NY – Port Authority police recently arrested a Deal man at John F. Kennedy International Airport after an x-ray machine detected a working antique handgun inside his carry-on bag.

Philip S. Saada, 58, Norwood was arrested at 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 20 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He was stopped at a checkpoint after the machine detected the handgun as it passed along a conveyer belt, police said.
