Edna Cruz Of Long Branch Dies At 50

Services for longtime Monmouth Medical Center employee will be held on Thursday and Friday.

Edna Cruz, 50, of Long Branch, passed away Sunday, October 18, at Monmouth Medical Center.

She was born in New York City and became a lifelong resident of Long Branch after relocating in 1971.

Edna worked at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch for 27 years. She was beloved by her colleagues who she considered extended family. She was a passionate Giants fan, and never missed a winning game. She will be remembered for her genuine and sincere nature, and dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted single mother who took great pride in her son, Kevin, for his achievements and his career in the Marines. She held a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews, as well as her family in Monmouth Medical Center.

Edna is survived by her son, Kevin Cruz, of Long Branch; her parents, Elpidio and Carmen Cruz, Long Branch; her brother, Elpidio and Maria Cruz; her sisters Maria Diaz, Oceanport, and Elizabeth and Mark Brummer, Oceanport.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday October 22 at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. A church service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 23 at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 408 Prospect St., Long Branch. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
