Shuler was a football standout at Long Branch. In track and field, he won state titles in the 100 and 200 meters as a senior, and the 100-meter at the Meet of Champions as a junior. He also achieved high marks in the classroom.
His departure leaves offensive lineman Ryan Brodie as the only Long Branch representative on the Scarlet Knights football team. He will be a freshman this season.
