Free Crafts, Activities For Kids Sunday In Long Branch
The city of Long Branch celebrates Arbor Day with a fun family event this Sunday, April 30:
LONG BRANCH, NJ — If you're looking for something to do this weekend with kids, Long Branch will celebrate Arbor Day April 30 with free arts & crafts for kids, and tree sapling giveaways.
The event will be held Sunday, April 30 indoors at the Long Branch Arts & Cultural Center (577 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740), rain or shine. 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
Come enjoy refreshments and snacks, learn about local sites and native plants, and listen to Mayor John Pallone read a classic children’s story.

Fun "eco-crafts" will be created, including making your own Genki Ball, a ball made up of microorganisms, molasses soil and rice bran that helps clean up sludge in water — yes, you read that right. Admission is free to all.
Long Branch residents can pick up their free tree outside of the Arts & Cultural Center. Help replant communities damaged by Superstorm Sandy with free tree seedlings.

Residents can also pick up a few milkweed plants to put in their backyard to help feed and shelter monarch butterflies as they fly through Long Branch.
“We are excited to welcome the community to this fun day,” said Faith Teitelbaum, member of the Long Branch Environmental Commission and the Green Team. “We appreciate the many groups within Long Branch who are committed to keeping Long Branch beautiful and sustainable.”
