Freehold Man Critically Injured In Route 33 Motorcycle Crash

The motorcycle hit the center guard rail, Howell police said.

A Freehold man was hospitalized in critical condition Monday after his motorcycle crashed on Route 33 in Howell Township, police said.

Manuel A. Sanchez, 51, of Freehold was westbound on Route 33 just west of Tinton Falls Road when he tried to change lanes and hit the center guard rail about 9:20 a.m., he told police, according to Howell Sgt. Joseph Markulic.

The impact caused Sanchez to be thrown from the motorcycle, and the motorcycle slid and came to rest in the right lane on Route 33, Markulic said. Sanchez was treated at the scene by Wall Township First Aid and MONOC and taken to the trauma unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he is listed in critical but stable condition, Markulic said.
