Riders to embark on five-day, 400 mile bike ride to raise funds for Harbor House Homeless Youth
Toms
River, NJ –over 50 bike riders will embark on a 5-day, 400 mile bike
ride from July 9-13, 2014 to benefit Harbor House, an agency that for
over 25 years has been providing homeless, runaway, abused, neglected
and abandoned youth, ages 10-21 throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties,
with emergency and transitional shelter, food, clothing, counseling and
support.
Participants embarking on A Ride for New Beginnings,
now in its 17th year, will ride through coastal and northern New Jersey to upstate New York and complete the ride in Toms River, New Jersey.
“This
will be my 10th year participating in the Harbor House 400 bike ride
that helps raise critical funds and awareness for Harbor House,” said
event chair Thomas Large. “Each year that I participate in this
fundraiser I always keep the homeless youth in the back of my mind. It
helps me get through a long day of riding, knowing that the youth at
Harbor House have it much harder as they transition safely to adulthood and learn to lead healthy, productive lives.”
The registration
fee to participate is $100 and riders are asked to raise an additional
minimum of $750. A three-day ride is also available for a registration
fee of $75.
