Have You Seen Audrey Clark? Call Neptune Police

The former Long Branch principal and namesake of the elementary school wandered away from her Neptune home; police say she has dementia.

NEPTUNE, NJ -- A beloved teacher and former Long Branch elementary school principal left her Neptune home Wednesday morning and has not been seen since, Neptune police said on Facebook.

Neptune police said Audrey Clark, 85, who suffers from dementia and other heath concerns, left on foot from Chadwell Court in Neptune, where she was last seen by her neighbor around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

She was wearing a beige jacket and holding a black bag and carrying papers in her hands, police said. It is believed she was trying to travel to Long Branch via public transportation, they said.

Facebook users commenting on the Neptune Police post identified her as the former teacher and principal for whom the Audrey W. Clark Elementary School in Long Branch is named.

Neptune police said they received a report about 10 a.m. that Clark had been seen near the intersection of Routes 33 and 35, walking east on Route 33. Another sighting was reported on Route 66 but it was unclear what time that occurred.
