Intergenerational “Senior Prom” held at Seabrook Retirement Community

More than 100 senior citizens and high school students enjoyed an evening full of dancing and fun

On June 6, more than 100 senior citizens from Seabrook Retirement Community and students from local high schools and colleges enjoyed an evening full of fun and dancing at the annual “Senior Prom” held at Seabrook’s Princeton Dining Room.

The event brings together high school and college students employed by Seabrook’s Dining Services and residents at the active retirement community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Many student participants are recipients of the Seabrook Scholars Fund. The fund is a program where residents donate money to eligible students for their upcoming college or secondary school education.

“Residents had a fantastic time socializing with our student employees. It was a great opportunity to bring generations together,” said Community Resources Manager Michelle Aguilar.

At the end of the night, Seabrook residents Harris Drucker and Muriel Kirsch were crowned king and queen as well as Seabrook employees Gary Hoover and Melissa McCready. Gary is a student at Neptune High School and will attend Urbana University in the fall.

“I was shocked, I usually don’t win anything,” said Kirsch after winning.
