Jack's Goal Line Stand To Close For One Month After Liquor License Suspension
West End bar committed violations within the last year
Jack's Goal Line Stand, at 149 Brighton Ave., Long Branch, will be closed for one month after the bar committed several violations.
The bar's plenary retail consumption license was suspended from May 29 to June 29 after the Long Branch Council adopted a resolution at its Tuesday night meeting.

Jack's will be closed "without doing business of any kind" during its 1-month closure, according to the resolution.
"The owners thought about appealing the suspension, but chose not to appeal," Long Branch Business Administrator Howard Woolley said.

Long Branch City Clerk Kathy Schmelz said the Jack's liquor license is being suspended because of two violations committed within the last year.
The first was "lude content being displayed on the bar's television sets," and the second was a "brawl outside the bar," Schmelz said.
Jack's is a sports bar that is popular with Monmouth University students and local residents. It is located right next to Richard's Deli in West End.
