Local Resident Enourages Congressman To Be More Outspoken on Issues Of Importance To New Jersey Residents

I respectfully encourage Congressman Smith to be more outspoken on critical national issues of importance to residents of New Jersey.

The note below was emailed to Congressman Smiths office this past Sunday. While I appreciate the Congressman's dedication to causes such as human rights around the globe I would hope to see a 34 year/17 term veteran of Congress more outspoken when it comes to issues of importance to NJ residents such as the threat of the Republican Congress ending health coverage thru the ACA for half a million NJ residents or the importance of Congress forming a special committee to investigate alleged Russian interference in the recent presidential election. On issues like those, silence is not acceptable.

Congressman,

As my Congressional representative for the 4th district, I am
respectfully urging you to add your voice to the nonpartisan group of
lawmakers that have called for a Congressional investigation into
allegations that the Russian government attempted to influence the
outcome of the recent US Presidential election. The accusation that a
major foreign power attempted to or actually did influence a US
presidential election is extremely serious. Also its very worrisome that
the President-elect would choose not to believe US intelligence but
instead would rely on what he would like to believe is true.....without
any evidence to substantiate those beliefs. Politics aside, the entire
episode needs to be investigated by Congress with the results shared
with the American people.

Sincerely,

Bob English-Eatontown
