Long Branch Boardwalk Set To Reopen After Coronavirus Closure
Long Branch's boardwalk, adjacent roadway and promenade will reopen Saturday morning.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Long Branch will soon reopen its boardwalk, adjacent roadway and promenade. The City announced the closures March 31 because of the new coronavirus.
The areas will reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday. The bathrooms will stay closed, and social distancing remains required.

Monmouth County officials have reported 395 coronavirus cases in Long Branch as of Thursday afternoon. Officials have reported 6,662 cases in Monmouth County, while the State has counted 428 deaths in the county.

County officials have worked with mayors on gradually reopening their cities and towns.
“I have been working closely with the governor’s office on beaches reopening and I hope to have more guidance next week,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone. “I am in constant communication with our shore town mayors and I would like to see the beaches open by Memorial Day weekend.”
