“Be Creative Be You” was founded by Lowell Serhus in 2014, based upon his book of the same name. Its program focus is on the synthesis of rational and creative thought. “Creativity is an integral part of our thinking,” said Mr. Serhus, “in many cases, it’s the direction of our lives! It’s the ability to generate novel and interesting ideas, whether it is in the arts, or engineering, or sciences and combine it with critical thinking. So simply, creativity is the practical ability to translate theory into practice and abstract ideas into practical accomplishments.” The contest program was adopted by the Long Branch Public School district and is launching in several other Monmouth County school districts within the next months.
