Long Branch Cancels Oceanfest July 4 Celebration
Oceanfest, arguably New Jersey's biggest Independence Day celebration, was canceled this year because of the coronavirus.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Arguably the biggest July 4th celebration in New Jersey has been canceled. City officials announced Wednesday that Oceanfest won't take place this summer because of the coronavirus.
The City and Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce will plan for the next Oceanfest on July 4, 2021.
Governor Phil Murphy's Executive Order No. 143 prohibits gatherings such as festivals, fireworks and concerts. It is not immediately clear whether this part of the order will see changes before Independence Day, as New Jersey gradually lifts coronavirus restrictions.
