Long Branch, Eatontown To Give Away Free Tree Seedlings

The baby-tree seedling giveaway takes place April 6 at the Long Branch Library and April 14 Eatontown.

LONG BRANCH, N.J. — The New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign seeks to bring back the Shore tree line that Hurricane Sandy damaged. You can be part of that by picking up free seedlings in Long Branch and Eatontown.

You can pick up free seedlings from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 at the Long Branch Public Library. Presentations will be given at 11 a.m. and noon on the importance of native plants.

Eatontown will also offer free seedlings at noon April 14 on Wolcott Park off South Street.

To date, more than 332,982 trees have been distributed around New Jersey through this program, according to the Arbor Day Foundation. The New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign partners with the New Jersey Forest Service.
