Long Branch Man Seriously Injured In Parkway Crash; Toms River Man Killed

A Toms River man was killed and a Long Branch man injured after both were ejected in a crash Sunday on the Garden State Parkway.

LACEY, NJ — A Toms River man was killed and a Long Branch man injured early Sunday when they were thrown from a car during a crash on the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey State Police said.

Brian Fort, 20, from Toms River, was killed in the crash that was reported shortly after 6 a.m., Trooper Christopher Postorino said.

Errol Jeffrey, 22, of Long Branch, suffered serious injuries, Postorino said. He was taken to an unspecified hospital for treatment.

Fort was driving an Infiniti north on the Parkway when the car ran off the right shoulder near milepost 73.2 in Lacey, Postorino said. It went down an embankment and hit multiple trees and overturned before coming to a rest, he said.

Both men were ejected from the car.
