Long Branch Movie, Discussion Thursday Night On Opioid Epidemic
"Heroin(e)" is about three women, a fire chief, a judge and a street missionary, battling West Virginia's heroin problem.
LONG BRANCH, NJ — This Thursday, Dec. 2 the Long Branch Arts and Cultural Center in collaboration with HEARS, the Mayor’s task force to combat the opioid epidemic, is showing the award-winning documentary "HEROIN(E)."
The movie is 39 minutes long and will have a discussion featuring Long Branch Judge Luanne M. Peterpaul and Monmouth County Acting Assistant Prosecutor Lindsay Ashwal to follow.
The movie “HEROIN(E)” is an Oscar-nominated film that follows three women — a fire chief, a judge and a street missionary — battling West Virginia's devastating opioid epidemic.

The movie begins at 7 p.m. at the Long Branch Arts and Cultural Center. Admission is free to this event and pizza and beverages will be served.
Long Branch HEARS is dedicated to establishing Long Branch as a recovery friendly community through health, education, addiction and recovery support.

“This event is not one to miss at our arts center,” Council President Dr. Anita Voogt said. “This is a very impactful film that will sure to be followed up with a meaningful and moving discussion from our municipal judge and acting assistant prosecutor.”
