Long Branch Pair Charged In Point Pleasant Stabbing: Police
Police said the victim first was taken to Ocean Medical Center then transferred to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Two Long Branch residents have been charged in connection with a stabbing outside the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge earlier this month, Point Pleasant police said Tuesday.
Sandra D. Brower, 48, and Gerard J. Cerqua, 50, both of Long Branch, have been charged in the stabbing following an intensive investigation, Point Pleasant Lt. Robert Lokerson said.
Police were called to the Moose Lodge on River Avenue on June 16 and found a man with a stab wound to his lower back and a leg laceration, Lokerson said. The man was taken to Ocean Medical Center and later transferred to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, he said.

Detective Michelle Hill and the patrol division investigated and issed a complaint summons on June 20 charging Brower with third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, third-degree aggravated assault causing significant bodily injury, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, Lokerson said.
Brower was charged on June 20, he said.

Cerqua, meanwhile, was charged Tuesday in connection with the case, with third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, Lokerson said.
Neither is listed as being held at the Ocean County Jail, according to corrections records online.
