Long Branch Police Charge City Man With Threatening To Kill Two Police Officers

Long Branch police recently charged a city man with two counts of terroristic threats and two counts of gang criminality, according to a police department press release.
Street Crimes Unit members Lieutenant Jeff Grippaldi, Detectives Joseph Spitale, Rich O’Brien and Nick Romano arrested Jamire Williams, 24, in front of his home at 136 James Street on Aug. 17.
He was charged after an investigation by Detective Todd Coleman and Detective Lieutenant Ray Chaparro. Williams had recently been discovered in a video on social media sites making a threat to kill two two specific members of the Long Branch Police Department, according to the release.

He was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $240,000 cash bail.
“The Long Branch Police Department will continue to vigilantly apprehend anyone suspected of making threats to the safety of our officers, as our officers continue to work hard to ensure the safety of our residents and the public,” the release states.
