Long Branch Police: Man Hit Another Man Deliberately With Car

A Manchester Township man has been charged with aggravated assault, accused of hitting another man deliberately with his car in Long Branch in an attempt to cause serious bodily injury, according to court documents.
Ronald Hart, 27, of Jolson Court, was arrested Tuesday by Long Branch police and charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief during an altercation in the city, according to the criminal complaint.
He is accused of driving his 1998 Honda CRV through a fence and at the victim, who was not named in the complaint, striking the man. The car caused between $500 and $2,000 in damage to the fence in the process, resulting in the fourth-degree criminal mischief charge.

The extent of the victim’s injuries was not known, and a call to Long Branch police was not immediately returned.
Hart is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $36,000 bail, with a 10 percent option, as set by Superior Court Judge Honora Kilgallen.
