Man Indicted In 2022 Crash That Killed Ocean Twp. Man
A former Jackson resident was indicted for the 2022 crash that killed Robert Johnson, 50, of Neptune Township.
HOWELL, NJ — A 34-year-old man who used to live in Jackson Township, but now lives in Jensen Beach, Florida has now been indicted for the 2022 Howell car crash that killed Robert Johnson, 50, of Neptune Township.
Drew Peterson was indicted on one count of second-degree vehicular manslaughter.
Just after midnight on March 11, 2022, a Friday, Peterson was driving a Ford F150 pick-up on Rt. 33 just west of the Colts Neck Road intersection when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2004 Kia Rio, sideswiping the smaller vehicle.

Peterson continued westbound, again crossing over the center line into opposite traffic, where he struck a 2010 Dodge Challenger (driven by Johnson) in a head-on collision. The pick-up overturned and Peterson was ejected. Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene; the female driver of the Kia Rio was uninjured.
Peterson was indicated October 30; he returned to New Jersey and was processed Nov. 18. He is represented by Mitchell Ansell, Esq., with an office in Ocean Township.
