The MONMOUTH COUNTY SPCA TO HOST ANNUAL VALENTINES DAY BRUNCH
A BRUNCH & BENEFIT TO RAISE PROCEEDS FOR THE HOMELESS ANIMALS OF THE MCSPCA
January 28th - Love is in the air once again for the Monmouth County SPCA’s Valentine’s Day Brunch and all the animals need is love! The organization announced today that event is being held at McLoone’s Pier House at Pier Village in Long Branch on Sunday, February 15th at 11am. Whether you have a human Valentine or not, this yearly fundraiser is a wonderful and selfless way to share your love and support for the homeless animals of the MCSPCA!
Last year’s SOLD OUT Brunch was the MCSPCA’s biggest and best yet, raising more than $30,000 for the animals in their care. This year, the event will honor two devoted MCSPCA volunteers, Jane Lisa & Emelia Accardi for their dedication and hard work in spearheading our Cat Porch Renovation.
The Cat Porch is a favorite hangout for the cats at the MCSPCA while they wait to find their forever homes. It is hard for some cats during their stay at the shelter to adjust to living in a small cubby, but the cat porch gave them a place where they could relax and enjoy peace and sunshine while they wait to find homes of their own. The former space was seasonal & sometimes unfit for the cats to use in inclement weather, so with the help of Jane & Emelia, along with countless others, the space was transformed into a year-round enrichment area where the cats can stretch out, play and relax with plenty of sunshine and outdoor sights to see.

About the Monmouth County SPCA
The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded in 1945 to care for the community’s homeless, neglected and abused animals. Our mission is to protect and advocate for all animals. We are dedicated to enforcing animal cruelty laws; providing a safe haven for homeless, abused and abandoned pets while they await adoption; reducing pet over-population through spay/neutering; and cultivating their humane treatment through education and service . In 2014 we cared for more than 4,000 animals. The Monmouth County SPCA relies solely on private donations to fund these important initiatives.
We provide services to the community including pet adoptions, low cost spay/neuter services, a weekly vaccine clinic, dog training and behavior, humane law enforcement, lost and found, trap neuter and return for free-roaming cats, humane education, pet therapy, a pet food pantry for low-income families as well as our Pittie Project, a proactive program to help keep Bully Breeds out of the shelter and improve their lives in the community.
