Monmouth University’s independent, student-run record label, will host a record release show for its summer compilation album on Thursday, July 2 at 8 p.m. at the Inkwell Coffee House, Long Branch. This summer’s featured artists are Natalie Zeller, singer-songwriter Abby Cornero, and lead singer for “Emily Youth Project,” Michael Grant. All tracks were recorded at Lakehouse Studios in Asbury Park, N.J.

All three musicians will perform their work live on stage and showcase an amazing display of musicality and captivate their audience, along with gifts from supporting sponsors Retro Fitness, Bagel Guys Deli and Monmouth Music. Blue Hawk Records will be teaming up with Noise In The Attic, a non-profit organization that will be collecting canned food at the event.

The Summer 2015 EP allows students to explore their creativity while experiencing hands-on lessons within the industry such as recording, promoting and much more. Condensed from the typical fall schedule, half the time and double the effort enabled a new kind of hardworking attitude within the project and the members. Under the returning guidance of Chair of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts Joe Rapolla, the label has all it needs.

Blue Hawk Records is an independent, student-run record label and music organization designed to provide music and experience for the students, by the students. Its mission is to equip students in the Music Industry program, as well as others in the University, with relevant, hands-on experience and familiarize them with the typical workings of different occupations in the Music Industry.
