Morris County Girl Struck By Cadillac Escalade In Long Branch: Cops

Girl, 13, treated for concussion, no charges filed against driver.

Long Branch police will not file charges against the driver of a Cadillac Escalade who inadvertently struck a 13-year-old girl when she ran across the street Saturday night with a group of friends, according to app.com.

The girl, from Wharton in Morris County, suffered a mild concussion and road rash and spent the night at Monmouth Medical Center, Lt. Frank Morey said this morning.

The accident happened near the intersection of Ocean and Avenel boulevards, when the driver, a 47-year-old man from Sea Bright traveling about 35-40 miles per hour, tried to avoid hitting the juveniles when they ran across the four-lane roadway, he said.
