Person Killed By Train In Long Branch, NJ Transit Service Suspended

"Trespasser" fatality occurred on the train tracks on Brighton Avenue.

NJ Transit has suspended service between Bay Head and Long Branch this afternoon after a person was struck and killed on the tracks near Brighton Avenue, according to nj.com.

NJ Transit said in a tweet shortly before 1 p.m. that service is suspended due to a “trespasser fatality” near the Elberon station.

A NJ Transit spokeswoman, Jennifer Nelson, said a “trespasser” was hit at the train tracks on Brighton Avenue.

Buses have been ordered to accommodate commuters, the tweet said.
