Old Long Branch High School To Be Renovated For Special Needs Students

Opening expected sometime in 2016.

The old Long Branch High School will soon have a new life as the district’s alternative education program, according to Wordontheshore.com.

The Long Branch Board of Education recently unanimously voted to award a $4.3 million contract to Tinton Falls-based Tormee Construction Inc. for the renovation of the school on Westwood Avenue.

School officials want to use the old school for the 369 students with behavioral problems and learning disabilities. The students are currently houses at the Audrey W. Clark Academy of Alternative Programs.
