Phil also leaves behind many loving cousins and beloved friends, as well as his loyal dog, Mr. Hoffa. Phil attended Woodmere and Memorial Schools in Eatontown and Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls. He received his Associates of Arts and Science Degree from Gibbs College in Montclair, NJ in 2002.

A kind, generous and loving soul, Phil had a big heart and made sure that he did everything he could to touch the lives of others and make a difference, giving devoted care to people and animals alike. He had many skill sets, including contracting, construction, roofing, general handy work, cooking, as well as computer and IT work.

Phil used these many skills to help others in need. He spent many years in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina working as a disaster relief contractor and advocating on behalf of those who needed assistance. He also provided the same assistance at home after Hurricane Sandy. An avid surf fisherman, Phil enjoyed living life to the fullest and loved to have fun. His friends often said that they “never knew a nicer guy” and he will be missed by all who had the opportunity to be touched by his kindness, joy and love.

“Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect - without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant.”

Family and friends may visit at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Street, Eatontown from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A community eulogy service will start at 7 p.m. where all can share their memories of Phil.
