Port Authority Police Confirm Long Branch Man Dies In Plunge Off George Washington Bridge

The incident happened around noon on Tuesday.

A Long Branch man died Tuesday after he climbed onto the railings of the George Washington Bridge and jumped off, according to a story on app.com.

Kenneth Bell, 54, drove his Volkswagen onto the New York-bound upper roadway around noon, then jumped from the bridge, Joe Pentangelo, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said.

Bell was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. Pentangelo said.
