Power Outage Impacted 2,900 Long Branch Residents Tuesday
The outage was caused by an animal coming into contact with live equipment according to a FirstEnergy spokesperson.
LONG BRANCH, NJ – Close to 3,000 residents in Long Branch were without power for a few hours on Tuesday afternoon, according to First Energy, the parent company of Jersey Central Power & Light.
The cause for the power outage, which occurred around 1 p.m. Tuesday, was an animal coming in contact with live equipment, a spokesperson from First Energy told Patch.
Restoration is ongoing, and as of 4:10 p.m., there are less than five customers in Long Branch currently without power, according to First Energy’s power outage map.
