Prayer Vigil for Jailed American Pastor
Saturday, September 26, 2015 a public Prayer Vigil for Pastor Saeed Abedini, at the NJ Statehouse at noon. All are welcome.

Almost three years ago, on September 26, 2012, Pastor Saeed Abedini, an Iranian-born American citizen, was jailed in Iran and thrown into one of the worst prisons in the world simply because of his Christian faith. Saeed has been beaten, abused, and put under great psychological pressure to deny his Christian faith. But Pastor Saeed has stood strong in his faith in Jesus Christ and has become a face of the larger persecuted Church around the world and a symbol for religious freedom and human rights. Scripture asks us to “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body” (Hebrews 13:3).
This September 26, 2015, will mark the three-year anniversary and Naghmeh Abedini, Pastor Saeed’s wife, invites you to join her in remembering Pastor Saeed Abedini and others who are persecuted for their faith by participating in a prayer vigil in front of the New Jersey Statehouse in Trenton, NJ. This is just one of hundreds of prayer vigils being held on this date across the country and yes, around the world.
Pastor Saeed has stood as a face for the growing persecution of Christians around the world. Let us gather together in solidarity with our persecuted brothers and sisters. Pastor Saeed previously expressed in a letter that nothing has encouraged him more than knowing “that in my chains the body of Christ has chained together” in prayer.
Join others in praying for Pastor Saeed and the persecuted church in Trenton, NJ on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at noon, 124 West State St., as we pray for Pastor Saeed in particular and the persecuted church in general.
This is a free event and we have obtained a ‘permit to gather’ at 12:00 PM on the Capitol steps, by the New Jersey State Police.
