Seabrook Community Donates 400 Turkeys to Local Food Banks at Annual Turkey Trot

On November 19, a 5 Ft Turkey and the Monmouth Regional Marching Band led more than 200 Seabrook residents and staff on a one-mile stroll around campus at the community's annual Turkey Trot. After the walk, over 400 turkeys, donated by residents and staff, were loaded onto trucks and delivered to Bradley Food Pantry, Interfaith Neighbors, and Lunch Break. The fun seasonal event also included refreshments, including apple cider and donuts.

“Thank you to our residents, staff and the Monmouth Regional Marching Band for participating in our 18^th annual Turkey Trot and supporting a worthy cause,” said Seabrook Executive Director Todd DeLaney. “We can make a difference in our neighbors’ lives through our generosity and support.”

“The turkeys Lunch Break received from Seabrook are greatly needed and will be appreciated by many local families this holiday,” said Lunch Break’s Inice Hennessy. “Thank you very much for your donation.”

Since the launch of the Turkey Trot in 1999, the Seabrook community has donated over 6,400 turkeys to local charities.

Seabrook is one of 19 continuing care retirement communities managed by Erickson Living. The scenic 98-acre campus is located in Tinton Falls, New Jersey and is home to more than 1,400 residents.
