Seabrook Hosts Unity and Cultural Festival on Campus

More than 100 residents and staff attended the event to celebrate diversity and inclusion on campus.

On October 14, Seabrook, a developed and managed Erickson Living retirement community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, launched its Diversity Week with a Unity and Cultural Festival on campus. More than 100 residents and staff attended the fun event and enjoyed food from around the world as well as artwork, artifacts, and authentic dress.

During the festival, residents and staff shared their heritage, nationality, culture, community, and unique experiences. Tables included Italy, Nigeria, China, Jamaica, Philippines, Poland, LGBTQ, and more.

"Thank you to our Diversity and Inclusion Committee for sponsoring this wonderful celebration of diversity and inclusion on our campus," said Executive Director Phil Jean. "Seabrook is dedicated to cultivating a community of respect and caring that embraces the richness of our diverse employees and residents."

Other highlights of Diversity Week included a multi-decade music trivia contest and a presentation from Garden State Equality staff about its Understanding Our Neighbors Project. Also, Ian Brown, Erickson Living's vice president of learning and organizational development and the chair of the company-wide Diversity and Inclusion Council, led a conversation titled "Does Diversity Matter?"
