Seabrook Residents Sing Christmas Carols and Hanukah Songs at Interfaith Holiday Songfest
Pianist Maggie Tripold led participants in the singing of Christmas carols and Hanukah songs

On December 23, more than 200 residents and friends celebrated the holidays at Seabrook’s Interfaith Holiday Songfest. Pianist Maggie Tripold led participants in the singing of Christmas carols and Hanukah songs including “Joy to the World,” “Hanukah, Hanukah,” “Deck the Halls,” and “The Draydel Song." The program, sponsored by Seabrook’s Interfaith Council and Pastoral Ministries, was followed by a catered reception featuring festive holiday foods, eggnog, and punch.
Seabrook residents Riki Kass and Sheila Intner, who organized the event, came up with the idea to have a Songfest as a fun way to bring the community together this year since Christmas Eve and the first night of Hanukah fall concurrently on December 24.
"Residents told me how much they enjoyed the Songfest and that they felt a sense of unity among community members from diverse faith backgrounds," said Pastoral Ministries Manager David Bowman. "At the end of the program, the audience sang 'Let There Be Peace on Earth,' which really touched people deeply."
