Seabrook's Jewish Community to Present Video Lecture Series

Video lecture series "Israel's Milestones and Their Meanings: The Legacy of the Past and the Challenge of the Future" is open to public.

Seabrook’s Jewish community will present “Israel’s Milestones and Their Meanings: The Legacy of the Past and the Challenge of the Future” in September and October. The series, free and open to the public, will be held at Seabrook’s Town Square Atrium, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

An engaging and innovative eight-week video lecture series from the Shalom Hartman Institute, this new course explores the pivotal events of 1947 and 1967 – following the 1917 Balfour Declaration – as key moments when Zionism unleashed new thinking about the meaning of Jewishness for generations to come. The course engages participants in an open and pluralistic discussion about issues of Jewish identity, peoplehood, ethics, and theology, as they relate to nationhood, land sovereignty, Jerusalem, occupation, and moral red lines. Q&A to follow each session.

Seabrook Pastoral Associate Abby Cahn Anton will be presenting this series on eight Wednesday evenings from September 5 through October 31 at 7 p.m. (except for September 19). For more information or to make reservations, call Abby Cahn Anton on Tuesdays or Fridays at (732) 481-6050.
