Seaside Park Class II Police Officer Charged With Sexual Assault of Minor in Hazlet
Daniel J. Alfano also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, Monmouth County Prosecutor says.

Hazlet Township police have charged a Seaside Park Class II special police officer with second degree sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.
Daniel J. Alfano, 25, a Class II Special Police Officer in Seaside Park, was arrested on Wednesday after an investigation by Hazlet police determined he engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl at his home on Parkway Drive in Hazlet on May 2, Gramiccioni said..

Alfano was released after posting $100,000 bail set by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Jospeh W. Oxley.
If convicted of sexual assault, Alfano faces a sentence of up to 10 years in a New Jersey state prison. He would also be subject to Megan’s Law provisions and community service for life, Gramiccioni said.

He faces three to five years in prison on each of the endangering the welfare of a child, if convicted, he said.
The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Danielle Zanzuccki. Alfano is represented by Mitchell Ansel, Esq., of Ocean Township.
