UPDATE: Shafto Road Near Hope Road In Tinton Falls Reopened After Brushfire
Low-flying airplane dropping water on blaze, police said.
ShaFto Road and Hope Road in Tinton Falls have been reopened after being closed for several hours due to a brushfire, Tinton Falls police said.
The aggressive, wind-pushed fire began shortly after 10 a.m. this morning, near the Garden State parkway, according to a post on the New Jersey Forest Fire Service Facebook page.
"Air tanker Bravo 1 knocked most of the head down with a 5 excellent drops," the post states. No structures were threatened."
