Shirley R. Di Maggio Of Long Branch Dies At 61
Memorial gathering for longtime Long Branch schools secretary will be held this afternoon.

Shirley R. Di Maggio, 61, of Long Branch, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly.
Shirley was a secretary for Long Branch Public Schools for 25 years before retiring in 2014. Born in Passaic, she lived in Ocean Grove before moving to Long Branch in 1978.
She was predeceased by her husband; Frank R. Di Maggio in 1982. Surviving are three sons, Michael Di Maggio and his wife Renee of Long Branch, Joseph Di Maggio and his fiancée Natalie Morrissey of Ocean Grove; Francesco Di Maggio and his fiancée Danielle Osnato of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Taylor Di Maggio, Justin Maletto, Lucas Hayes, Andrew Osnato and Mason Di Maggio; 2 brothers, William Justus and Peter Justus, both of Fla.; three nephews, David, Christopher and Sean; and two nieces, Barbara and Debbie.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 23, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society , 2310 Rt. 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
