(Monmouth County) – Despite the COVID-19 cancellation of the 2020 school year and the major disruption to graduations, proms and other events that are considered ‘rites of passage’ to both students and faculty alike, Soul Focus Health & Wellness Center, Eatontown, found a way to honor the service and sacrifices of the teaching community through Teacher Appreciation Day Thursday, May 21. The drive-through event was the first in a series of celebrations which will honor both teachers and nurses with free COVID-19 tests. On May 21, over 100 teachers were honored with free take-home tests and swag bags. “Today is about honoring the bonds of trust between teachers and students and the importance of those bonds to past, present and future generations,” noted Dr. Raj Gupta, founder of Soul Focus.

Soul Focus is hosting a second Teacher Appreciation Day on Friday, May 29 beginning at 1.30 p.m., and nurses will be honored at an event, Nurse Appreciation Day, on Thursday, May 28 starting at 10 a.m. The wellness center is located at 7 Meridian Road, Eatontown, N.J. 07724. Those coming to the location to pick-up the tests will be greeted by honorary signage, balloons and lots of cheering by the Soul Focus team. “This is a quick and easy way to find out what you really need to know to have peace of mind…if you currently have the virus, had the virus and are recovering, or if you have the antibodies. According to Dr. Raj, the at-home testing kits are instant point-of-care using a finger prick and blood analysis and come with detailed instructions for interpretation of test results. The results take less than 10 minutes and are designed for those who are asymptomatic and will reveal if an individual currently has the virus, has had the virus in the past and is recovering, and most importantly, if antibodies are present in the body. Soul Focus does not interpret the results.
