UPDATE: Special Assignment: Long Branch Police Deliver Baby On The Road

It's a girl!

Thursday was not an ordinary day for Long Branch Police Officers Joseph Graziano and Thomas Hueston.

Sure, it snowed. A lot.

But that wasn’t what made it extraordinary. The officers responded to a call at 1:28 pm. about a couple lost on Broadway and Memorial Parkway, trying to find Monmouth Medical Center, according to the police department’s Facebook page.

By the time they arrived, the mother was in labor. The officers knew they didn’t have enough time to get her to the hospital and began to help deliver the baby.

“Corporal Graziano caught the baby, Corporal Hueston cleared her airway, Long Branch First Aid cut the umbilical cord and Monmouth Medical will make sure Mom and baby stay healthy and strong,” the Facebook page states. ”Amazing job today, guys! Best wishes to Baby, Mom and family!”
