Stanley Day Of Long Branch Dies At 82
Services for the "Godfather" of suits will be held on Wednesday.

Stanley Day was born on October 5, 1933 in Long Branch, New Jersey to Pearl and Rainey Day. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at home.
He went though the Long Branch school system and after graduating he entered the U.S. Army. Stanley was married to Peggy White of Freehold and later Mary Anderson of Long Branch. Over the years, he was employed by the Colonial Egg Plant in Freehold, the Long Branch school system and Joe’s Car Wash in West Long Branch. He retired from Conte’s Car Wash in Long Branch.
Stanley believed in the Lord and went to church frequently. He was called the (God Father) of suits and derby hats and loved all colors. Red was his favorite color to wear on Fridays and blue on Mondays, he loved to look good. Stanley was a die heart Cowboy’s fan.

Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Pearl and Rainey Day, stepmother, Margaret Day; his two wives, Peggy Day and Mary Day; two sisters, Gladys Dean and Helen Williams; two brothers, William Day and George Day; a sister-in-law, Barbara; two brothers-in-law, Edward and John; a stepson, Dwayne and daughter-in-law, Roz. He leaves to cherish his memory his four sons and a daughter-in-law, Craig, Darren, Stanley and Trez, and Mark; stepsons, Ray, Tracy and Darius; ten grandchildren, three great- grandchildren six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Rorger; a special grandson, Brandon, hosts of nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends; and his special friend, Angela Traymon. A special thanks to Aunt Lady (Louise Rorger), Irving Day, Rainey Jenkins, Marie Rorger, Wendy Harris and Charles Higgs for being there for him.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to the Going Home Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 of the the Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty Street, Long Branch. The family invites you to write a letter of condolence or share a story by selecting a tab on the left.
